Each Shift retreat takes place in a carefully selected, culturally rich international location. Our inaugural Shift is in Hoi An, Vietnam.
❓Do I need a passport or visa?
Yes, you’ll need a valid passport and a tourist visa. We can connect you with trusted local experts to make the process simple and stress-free.
❓Are flights included?
Flights are not included in your registration. This gives you the flexibility to book the best route and timing for your schedule. If you’d like, we can recommend a local travel expert to help you find great options.
❓What airport should I fly into?
The nearest major airport is Da Nang International (DAD), about 45 minutes from Hoi An.
❓How do I get from the airport to the venue?
Airport transfers are not included, but we’ll share the best options for getting here. We can also refer you to reliable local drivers and services we trust.
❓Will someone pick me up from the airport?
No official pick-up, but we’ll connect you with trusted drivers so your arrival is smooth and stress-free.
❓Can I extend my stay before or after The Shift?
Absolutely! Many participants choose to come early or stay longer. We can connect you with local experts who can help you plan activities, accommodations, and cultural experiences to make the most of your time.
❓Do I need travel insurance?
Travel insurance isn’t required, but we highly recommend it. It can cover things like flight delays, lost luggage, or unexpected medical needs—so you can focus on enjoying the experience without added stress. Yes! You’ll get a digital and printable certificate you can share with recruiters, agencies, and hiring managers.

❓What does a typical day look like?
Mornings usually kick off with breakfast together and workshops. Afternoons mix training with cultural experiences and excursions. Evenings are often free to relax, explore, or connect with your crew.
❓Will I have free time to explore?
Yes! We’ve built in downtime so you can enjoy the destination at your own pace. Our team can recommend activities, excursions, or the best spots for a quiet coffee if that’s more your vibe.

❓Are there payment plans?
We don’t offer a formal payment plan, but if you need some flexibility, reach out! We’re happy to work with you on a solution that makes it doable.
❓What’s your cancellation policy?
We know plans can change, so here’s the quick version:
- Cancel by Nov 1, 2025 → Full refund (minus small admin + processing fees).
- After Nov 1, 2025 → Tickets are non-refundable, but you can transfer your spot to another traveler for free.
- If The Shift doesn’t meet the minimum number of travelers by Dec 1, 2025 → Event may be canceled, and participants refunded in full (minus payment processing fees).
- If something out of our control happens (like a natural disaster), we’ll refund your registration but can’t cover extra travel costs—so we highly recommend travel insurance.

❓What if I’m coming alone?
Perfect! Most people come solo and leave with a dozen new travel besties. We keep groups small (under 20 people) to foster real connection. Plus, we’ll set up a group chat so you can coordinate with other attendees before you even arrive.
❓Can I bring my spouse or a friend?
Yes! You’ve got two options if you’d like your spouse or a friend to come along:
- As a guest: All of our rooms are single occupancy, but your spouse or friend can join you in your room for $400. They won’t attend the training or included activities, but they’ll enjoy the destination right alongside you.
- As a participant: If they’d like to join the full Shift experience, you can share a room and you’ll both save $400 on your registrations.
❓Can I bring my children?
The Shift is an adults-only experience designed for professional growth, community, and travel. While we love families, this program is focused on creating a peer community of healthcare travelers.
That said, we highly recommend extending your stay and having your whole family join you afterward! We’re happy to connect you with a local expert who can help plan activities, cultural experiences, and adventures so you can make the most of your extended time here.
